White people say [“It’s not fair, if white people can’t say n*gger, black people shouldn’t either”]. And yet, why do I never hear: “It’s not fair, if white people make more just because their skin color, shouldn’t Black people receive equal pay too?” “It’s not fair, if men own 99% of the world, shouldn’t women get property too?” “It’s not fair, if Black people get pulled over dwb, shouldn’t white people get pulled over for no reason too?” “It’s not fair, if white people can breath around the cops without getting shot, shouldn’t people of color be able to as well?” I don’t really hear anything along those lines by people who cry it’s not fair that they can’t say a historically scarring word while some black people still use the term. Never heard them say anything like that. So they can kiss ass and shut the fuck up.
Fact: prejudice is NOT “just ignorance”

but prejudice sure does do a hell of a lot to cause, maintain, grow, and weaponize that ignorance.

[Abstinence-only sex ed curricula] rely on offensive, sexist stereotypes about men and women, boys and girls, as a foundational teaching tool and pass it off as “biology.” They portray “real” boys as unable to control themselves, unemotional (particularly about sex), not interested in female desire or sexual satisfaction, not ultimately responsible for their own sexual feelings (which are portrayed as dependent on how girls chose to tempt them) and definitely heterosexual. Girls, on the other hand, are shown as controlling monitors of aggressive male sexuality. In classic Madonna/whore manner, girls, despite being chaste objects of male desire and not “naturally” interested in having sex, are portrayed as temptresses that need to control what they wear and the messages they send. Also heterosexual, they are definitely not capable of managing their own reproductive lives.
Gamers get hella uncomfortable over male sexuality too. Can you imagine a “good male character who just happens to be wearing sexually exploitative outfits because he’s ok with his masculinity?” Constantly has the camera pan lovingly over his asscrack and firm glutes, and big ole dangly ballsack that is totes sweaty from all this MMA and soldiering. Time to hit the showers, and do you, personally, think it’s ok to have a long slow pan up the dude’s package (indiscreetly hidden in a jock of course), to his chiseled physique and erect nipples (pierced). He’s not even a Bond-esque confident man, he’s basically a weird Bowie caricature that’s constantly having near-dickslips in every single cinematic as the completely nonsexualized female characters do their business of being gruff and shooting dudes and advancing the plot. Finally, at the end he falls in love (out of nowhere) and/or is killed by the big baddie.

Shorter No-Sex Class Paradigm (a.k.a. Two Rules of Desire)

It’s a “how gender politics work” social story.

  1. It is simultaneously inconceivable and intolerable for a woman to have sexual desire.
  2. It is simultaneously inconceivable and intolerable for a man to be sexually desired.

Discussion: At least in contemporary western society every gender-related ill derives from some combination of items #1 and #2.
