Yamino mlp: my fandom is crazier than yours GOD GLEE FANDOM I LIKE YOU SO MUCH RN

When the creators of the show made the name “Derpy” canon it was probably the nicest thing they’ve done for the fans. It shows just how much they care about MLP’s huge and diverse fanbase. Imagine being a part of the show’s creative team and finally deciding on making the name “Derpy” canon - you would expect to have swarms of thank you mail from the hundreds of kind, devoted bronies. With that, imagine also getting swarms of hate mail saying how disgusting and offensive the decision was; that you have just made the most terrible decision to catering to an “abelist” plot. That is exactly what happened, and it has gotten to the point where the episode in mention has been pulled from iTunes and WeLoveFine is being threatened to pull the name “Derpy” from their line of merchandise.
I am appalled by this. The very idea that there are fans of this show sending the studio so much hate makes me cringe. And who do we have to thank for all this? Yamino.
I speak for many when I say I resent everything to do with Yamino, but now it’s gotten to the point where her antics have resulted in everyone’s favorite background pony to undergo some serious, unnecessary changes. Who knows, they might even remove her completely.
We can’t have this. Yamino and her band of easily-offended morons are ruining the somewhat personal relationship we have with the studio.
We helped to create Derpy, and the studio listened. Do we really need to have all that just disappear because some people want everything related to the media to be 100% politically correct? I don’t know about you but I certainly don’t. That is why I say no to Yamino.

Making something that’s 100% politically correct is difficult. Sure. But that doesn’t justify this at all. There’s so little proper representation of people with disabilities in media to begin with, why are they expected to put up with this type of thing?Because you know, you can feel sad that your fandom doesn’t get heard, but if the studio kept this character, they would be the ones that don’t get heard.Just because the studio isn’t aware of how offensive they are, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be called out for it. Actually, it’s the opposite, if anything.
Don’t you think being offended over people being offended by something that’s actually offensive, makes you the one that’s easily-offended rather than them?Taking pity on the studio is not a valid argument at all.They chose to do this, and sure, they put effort in it, but being uneducated and making this mistake is their own responsibility. It’s not sad, that they made a mistake, got shit for it, and tried to fix that. So what if they get a lot of hate for it?
